In this article I will go over what discounts can you get with National Trust membership. The National Trust is a charity in the United Kingdom that owns a lot of historic properties and land. The trust was founded over 125 years ago with the aim of preserving places of natural beauty and places of historic interest for everyone, for ever.
The National Trust currently owns a vast collection of historical places and artifacts. It has well over 1,000,000 items in its collection spread across its properties. A personal favorite of mine is its vast collection of old and rare books. The National Trust has over 400,000 old historical books.
The trust offers a membership to the trust for a small fee each year. Currently its costs £76.80 a year to be a member of the National Trust. This membership gives you free access and parking too all of the 400 or so National Trust properties. There are also a few less well know benefits to being a National Trust member. I will go over what they are here.
Cotswold Outdoor
Cotswold Outdoor is a very large outdoor equipment supplier in the United Kingdom. It sells all you could possibly need for an adventure in the wilderness, or just a walk in the gardens of the National Trust. They are a partner of the National Trust and offer a very generous 15% discount to National Trust members.
There are a couple of ways to claim this discount. You can show you National Trust card at the checkout of Cotswold stores, and the discount will be applied by the member of staff. You can also email Cotswold a picture of you National Trust membership card to the following address enquiries@cotswoldoutdoor.com and they will alter you Cotswold account so that the 15% discount is applied at the checkout stage before you pay for you purchase. London Museums
There are some museums in London that will offer a discounted entrance price for National Trust members. I have created a list of those museums that I could find below.

Paramo clothing are a clothing manufacturer based in Wadhurst, East Sussex. They make clothes that are designed to survive in the harshest of winter conditions. CJ Wildlife
CJ Wildlife sell a range of products for feeding wild birds, from the holders the food, to the actual food itself. CJ Wildlife began in 1987 on a farm in Shropshire. It has now grown a lot in size and is currently active in nine other European countries. For National Trust members they are offering a £5 discount on a insect tower that they sell.

Nikwax
Nikwax are a very well know brand with those who enjoy walking in the hills. They specialize in products that are used to clean waterproof clothing as you are not meant to use normal washing detergents on them. Along with products that will give back clothes/footwear back there water resistant properties. Nikwax has been running for well over 40 years they are used and trusted by many outdoor professionals. All of the products that Nikwax sell are water based, they also don’t use any solvents.

You can get discounts from the following companies with a National Trust membership. Cotswold Outdoor, Paramo Clothing, CJ Wildlife, Nikwax, Frugi. Some museums will also provide a discount to National Trust Members. That is all of the companies that I could find that provide a discount to National Trust members in the United Kingsdom.
I find it nice that the National Trust has been able to work with companies to provide these discount for its members. The Cotswold one is an especially nice one as it provides a 15% discount site wide. I have brought a couple of items from Cotswold using the discount that is applied to my account. I got some nice leather to shoes to use to help with my bucket list to visit all of the National Trust properties which I am now working may way through.
